GSEC takes home four awards and receives top honors at Annual IEDC Conference

Sacramento, CA  The Greater Sacramento Economic Council (GSEC) announced that it has been ranked the third best economic development group in the world for the second consecutive year by the prestigious International Economic Development Council (IEDC). This accolade reflects GSEC’s unwavering commitment to transforming the region’s economy with a focus on growth, sustainability, competitiveness and equity.

IEDC, a globally respected organization dedicated to advancing economic development excellence, has once again acknowledged GSEC’s outstanding efforts in shaping the economic landscape of the Greater Sacramento region. This recognition comes as a testament to the dedication and hard work put forth by the entire team at GSEC, working tirelessly to drive positive change in the region.

Matina Kolokotronis, Chief Operating Officer of the Sacramento Kings and Chair of the GSEC Board, shared her pride in the organization, saying, “As Board Chair of GSEC, I am immensely proud of the dedicated efforts put forth by the team and regional community partners. In addition to the top three global recognition, GSEC also secured a Gold Award and Best in Show nomination for their exceptional #CApitalMomentum campaign video, which brilliantly showcases the potential and vitality of the region. This video, a compelling portrayal of the region’s strengths, highlights the collaborative spirit and innovation that define Greater Sacramento.

GSEC’s achievements at the IEDC Conference in Dallas, Texas, did not stop there. The organization received further accolades with a Bronze Award for the #CApitalMomentum White Paper Print Brochure, a valuable resource showcasing the region’s strategic advantages through data and analytics. Furthermore, the #CApitalMomentum Campaign earned a Silver Award in the category of Digital Media for its innovative use of digital platforms to amplify the message of the region’s economic potential on a global scale.

In total, GSEC walked away with an impressive four awards from the IEDC Conference, cementing their position as a leading force in economic development worldwide. These accolades underscore GSEC’s commitment to fostering growth, sustainability, equity and competitiveness for an inclusive economy in Sacramento and the broader region.
